Accolades continue to roll in for the Spa City as Frommer’s, the award-winning travel guide company, named Hot Springs as one of its “Best Places to Go in 2026” on Thursday.

“What a tremendous achievement for our city to have been chosen among 16 great worldwide destinations by one of the premier travel organizations in the world,” Steve Arrison, the CEO of Visit Hot Springs, said in a news release.

“Knowing that Frommer’s travel pros have singled our city out as a recommendation to the millions of people who rely on Frommer’s for solid, reliable information means Hot Springs will be what experts call ‘front of mind’ for travelers everywhere,” he said.

The list of destinations included locations from all across the world: Jasper, Alberta, Canada; Asheville, North Carolina; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Chicago; Boston; Virginia; New York City; Philadelphia; Viti Levu, Fiji; European Capital of Culture Oulu, Finland; Algarve, Portugal; Adelaide, Australia; Patagonia Azul, Argentina; Vienna; Peru; South Africa’s Kruger National Park; Palawan, Philippines; and Costa Navarino, Greece.

“The editors at Frommer’s were enthusiastic about naming Hot Springs as one of their choices as a ‘Best Place to Go in 2026,’ and that selection will place us among an elite number of destinations for years to come,” VHS Marketing Director Bill Solleder said in the release.

“Selected by Frommer’s editors and peerless contributors around the world, this eagerly anticipated annual feature highlights national landmarks, tropical isles, culture capitals, and other places marking milestones and emerging as new must-sees in 2026,” the company said in the release.

The selection on Hot Springs called the city “a historic retreat brimming with natural spas, gangster lore, and a unique national park with bathhouses, quirky traditions, and a one-of-a-kind brewery,” and it featured images from VHS.
